So then it was into Christchurch for the afternoon. It's a pretty city and probably the most english looking (unlucky for dad!) It is NZ's third biggest city but is still pretty small. Interestingly, the city is very much like and based upon Oxford and Cambridge. It even has punting on the River Avon!
We had a pretty good walk about, following the route of the the city tram. It went into a cool covered area and it came past pretty close to the coffee shops...
We then sat and watched the crowds playing giant chess in Cathedral Square. I know nothing about chess but it looked a nice thing to do.
We continued walking around the city and walked along the river. We even saw the market and had a good couple of drinks along with a good catch up in a busy bustling brewery pub.
After a quick meal out, dad's jet lag was catching up with him. So it was back to the motel to have a real easy early night and enjoy the relative space before the 2 weeks of cosy campervan adventuring...
Glad to see you arrived safely, we kept trying to work out how far you'd got - but gave up! What did you do in Singapore Eric, you look completely knackered in the last photo. Have a wonderful time and keep the blogs coming.
